Tersefanou - Emerald Heights & Residence OASIS

Tersefanou is located around 10-minutes drive from Larnaca on the southern coast of Cyprus. It is easily accessed from either the motorway (highway) exit at the Klavia/Tersefanou junction 42 or from Larnaca via the village of Kiti. Tersefanou is a very traditional small Cypriot community with a few Taverns, a junior school, town hall and church. Life in the village is as it has been for many years with little sign of impact that tourism traditionally brings to many areas in the Mediterranean. This is an ideal location for people who want to experience the true sense of Cyprus.

The village is built near the sea and in an altitude of 50 Meters. The Beach is around 6 kilometres away. Some popular choices of beaches nearby are: Faros Beach and Spyros Beach.

Tersefanou village accepts a medium annual rainfall around 360 millimetres.

Carob-beans trees, plants and citrus fruits are cultivated in the village region. This is why Tersefanou has a village and agricultural feel to it.

The village also has a big irrigator work with irrigation extent of ground of 147 hectares. In this extent, it works as a water drawing and redistribution centre. Two kilometres northeast of the village and in his administrative limits, a dam was built, on the river Tremithou. Aim of the dam is the irrigation, with drillings of region, an extent of ground of 663 hectares that is cultivated mainly with vegetables. Due to the dam of Tremithou being irrigated, it also extents to the village of Tersefanou.

During the Turkish occupation Tersefanou village supplied water through Tremithou river into the town of Larnaca and later on through a water supply. The Kamares of Larnaca is the remaining of this.

In the village there are enough churches and chapels. The churches that distinguish are of Santa Marina that was built in the 17th century, the Saint Georgiou that was founded in 1745, Saint Andronikos that was built in the 16th century and Saint Georgiou of River that was also built in the16th century. In the region of the village exists also an archaeological space of prehistoric years.
